Emma Price
Emma joined mb LAW in January 2002, qualifying as a solicitor in January 2004.
Emma has over 8 years experience in handling personal injury and holiday related claims for Tour Operators and their insurers, Travel Agents, Cruise and Coach operators, excursion providers and hotels. Her expertise is wide ranging from negotiating claims pre issue, advising on and handling fast/multi track cases on issues such as quality of services and accidents/illnesses/fatalities sustained whilst abroad and in the UK. In addition Emma also advises her clients on the interpretation and application of travel related legislation/regulations/conventions.
Emma’s particular specialism is in the management and handling of class actions. Emma was part of the team that successfully defended the Booth and Others v Cosmosair Plc group action, recovering a significant proportion of the tour operators legal costs from the claimants.
Emma’s specialism means she is frequently involved in the investigation of claims overseas, conducting site visits as and when necessary. She regularly advises clients during the immediate aftermath of serious incidents and assists in the management, and resolution personal injury claims.
As a result of her experience Emma has considerable experience in handling recovery claims for tour operators against their UK/overseas suppliers. She also acts in a variety of commercial disputes including breach of contract claims and disputes involving Agency and Supplier Agreements.
In 2009, Emma successfully recovered in excess of £320,000.00 for her clients from suppliers based in Egypt, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Spain, Greece and Bulgaria.
