Gary Tweddle
Gary joined mb LAW as a trainee solicitor in 2002, qualifying as a solicitor in January 2004.
Prior to working for mb LAW, Gary was Legal Services Manager at the Specialist Holiday Group. Going further back, Gary has held various positions within the travel industry, both overseas and in the UK.
Gary's extensive experience and knowledge of the travel industry built up over a number of years ensures that he is ideally placed to understand and respond to clients' needs quickly and effectively.
Gary undertakes a mixture of defendant personal injury litigation, general travel and leisure litigation and employment work. He has more recently developed an interest in all aspects of overseas recoveries and is presently involved in third party claims against hotel groups in, amongst other places, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal and France. Recent successes include obtaining £31,000 from a Cypriot Hotel chain.
Gary's increasing interest in the medical aspects of litigation has helped him successfully handle a high value brain injury claim in the High Court, as well as obtaining reduced awards and settlements for his defendant clients in Fast and Multi-Track cases. He has also built up particular expertise on the complex issue of agency and principal relationships in a travel and leisure context, having successfully defended a number of businesses on this particular point.
Being a keen and now experienced advocate, Gary regularly defends his clients at hearings in County Courts up and down the country. He has also participated in mediations and appears in the Employment Tribunal.
