Solicitor - Judith Whiting

Judith Whiting

Joining mb LAW in 1999 as a trainee solicitor, Judith qualified as a solicitor in 2001.

Built up over the last 7 years, Judith has very wide ranging experience of drafting and advising on all types of commercial contracts and consumer conditions. Often working to very short deadlines and subject to space constraints, she is always mindful of achieving the balance between protecting the client's position and meeting commercial objectives.

Supplier contracts of all descriptions, agency agreements (including those appropriate for TOMS purposes), booking conditions and terms and conditions for promotions, competitions, membership and loyalty schemes are all handled by Judith on a day to day basis.

E-commerce and data protection are areas of particular specialism for Judith. The collection and use of consumers' personal data for marketing purposes and trading online are issues which Judith very regularly handles, from both a legal and practical perspective. Judith also regularly carries out comprehensive website audits which cover all issues arising out of trading online from drafting and incorporation of appropriate conditions and data protection to compliance with applicable laws (UK and overseas) and Disability Discrimination.

Judith also advises extensively in relation to regulatory requirements affecting the travel and leisure industries. "Unfair terms" in booking and other conditions and the extensive legislation affecting air travel (including international conventions and EU Regulations such as those relating to Denied Boarding) are just two of the areas of which Judith has wide experience.
